Abstract
Introduction: The ischemic cerebrovascular event represents a very important cause of morbidity, mortality and disability globally, its incidence being higher in developing countries where the risk factors are more common. The prognosis depends directly on the time that elapses between the onset of symptoms and the establishment of adequate treatment.
Objectives: Make known the diagnosis and management of cerebrovascular disease so that health personnel are able to diagnose and establish treatment for this pathology in a timely manner.
Methods: To carry out this bibliographic review, different bibliographic sources obtained from search engines such as PubMed® were used, after which the articles that contributed to the objective of this document were selected for its preparation.
Discussion: It is important to carry out an opportune diagnosis and an adequate treatment to be able to achieve the main objectives that in the initial phase of treatment of acute cerebrovascular disease are to guarantee medical stability, quickly reverse the conditions that contribute to the patient’s problem, determine if patients with Acute ischemic stroke are candidates for reperfusion therapy and begin to uncover the pathophysiology. basis of neurological symptoms.
